misaki matsui / film director + photographer
She was born in Kobe, Japan.
Her theme “no moment without hope” is found throughout her films, photos of landscape and portraiture,
and installation projects.
Her mission is to remind people that they can still have hope.
She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

The collaboration project between Jun Ando and Misaki Matsui.
Mr. Ando is a Koto (Japanese Harp) Player and composer,
and Ms. Matsui is a photographer and cinematographer.
They co-published a photographic book & music CD titled “White Story”,
and it was shown and sold at The NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1 2014.
And it is available at Printed Matter in New York, amazon.com and iTunes (digital version).
And also they made the music video titled “white sea”
and it was selected for Raindance Film Festival 2014 in London.
